Obituary

HUBBARDSTON-Helen A. (Donohue) Morris, 74, of 22 Evergreen Road died Saturday, August 2nd in the Lahey-Hitchcock Clinic, Burlington. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Thomas F. Morris, Sr., a son Thomas F. Morris, Jr. of Wells, ME; 4 daughters H. Celine Courtemanche of Florida, Maureen J. Armstrong of Worcester, Julianne Myers of Rutland, Eileen Grant of Leicester; a brother, Rev. John Donohue, SJ of Beirut, Lebanon; 10 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. 3 sisters, Mary Wasdin, Elizabeth Scavone and Kay Donohue predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Florence and Helen (Garvey) Donohue. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee and her master’s degree from Assumption College in Worcester. Mrs. Morris taught Spanish for 20 years at Auburn High School retiring in 1989. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Gardner and the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association. She enjoyed bicycling, the ocean, kayaking, reading, boogie boarding, traveling with her husband, astronomy, taking her grandchildren out to dinner, laughing and enjoying life to it’s fullest.

The funeral is Wednesday, August 6th at 10:30 AM in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 6th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue.
