Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON__ Chester A. Amons, 77, of West Boylston, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester. His wife Janice (Bucknam) Amons died in 1995. He leaves four sons, Steven and his wife, LouAnn of Jefferson, Kenneth and his wife, Judy of North Brookfield, Robert of West Boylston and David of Leominster; two daughters, Paula Perkins and her husband, Barry of Worcester and Laurie Amons, with whom he lived and her husband, Steven Perham of West Boylston; a sister, Jane Phelan of Holden; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Leah, Peter, Nicole, Kimberley, Zachary, Karlee and Nickolas; a great-grandchild Taber and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four siblings, Theresa, Henry, Irene and Stanley. Chester was born in Worcester, a son of Frank and Wladyslawa (Trzcinska) Amons and later moved to West Boylston.
Mr. Amons was a carpenter owning and operating his own business for many years. He graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. Throughout his life, he was an avid bridge player and horseman but his passion of life was his children and grandchildren.
The committal service will be held on Monday, August 3, at 11:30 a.m. in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Church St., West Boylston. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 2, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in HENRY-DIRSA FUENRAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester.
