Jose Amaral, age 84, of Fall River since 1960, passed away July 29, 2009. Husband of Diamantina (Silva) Amaral. Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores son of the late Manuel de Amaral Barroso & Alexandrina da Conceicao (Correia) Barroso. Prior to retiring, Mr. Amaral worked as a Foundry Grinder for Belcher Malleable Iron Company of Easton, MA. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Church and a member of the Our Lady of Light Society.
Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by two sons: Joseph Amaral of Westport & John Amaral of Fall River. One sister: Natalia Vieira of Toronto, Canada. Two grandsons: Brent & Christopher Amaral. He was the brother of the late Francisco, Augusto, Antone, Manuel, Maria Jose, Beatrice, Lucinda, & Rosaria.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. TUESDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 4-8 P.M.
