Obituary






Mr. Earl C. Wadsworth, 80, formerly of 21 Wadsworth Drive, Dummer, NH passed away on Thursday July 30, 2009 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin. He was born in Tylersville, PA on July 15, 1929 the son of Fred A. and Carrie (Ruhl) Wadsworth. He graduated from the Lock Haven High School in Lock Haven, PA and graduated from Penn State University with a BA in Marketing and Insurance. He served 2 years in the US Army as an Army cook stationed in Japan and moved to Framingham, MA upon discharge. He was employed for 30 years with New England Life Insurance Co. in Boston as a claims manager. He was an elected Town Meeting member for over 20 years, was active in the Jaycees where he served as local President, National Director, State Vice President, Senator and was a Lifetime Member. He was active in Boy Scouts and he and his wife were managers of the Dance Band in Framingham. He retired to Dummer in 1989 and served as a volunteer on the Milan Fire Dept. and was a Board Member and Secretary/Treasurer of the Androscoggin Valley Regional Refuse District Disposal Org. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and enjoyed outdoor activities. He was a member of the VFW Post #2520 in Berlin.

Members of the family include his wife Beverly Jane Wadsworth of Dummer, NH; a daughter Kerry Bergeron and husband David of Belmont, NH; a son Jay Wadsworth and wife Jennifer of Milford, MA; a grandson Justin Wadsworth of Framingham, MA; two step grandchildren Eddie and Brian Cerow of Milford, MA; a brother Donald Wadsworth and wife Jane of Farmington, ME; a sister A. Elizabeth Briggs and husband Eugene of McElhattan, PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Bruce Wadsworth and by his parents.

There will be no services. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home, Berlin, NH.
