Obituary

Dean R. Jackson, 57, of Cobblestone Road, Windham, NH and formerly of Victor Avenue, Nashua, NH died Saturday August 2, 2003 at his home surrounded by his family after a 23 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Mr. Jackson was born on May 23, 1946 in Brunswick, ME the son of Ralph and Ethel (Dennison) Jackson. He graduated in 1964 from Freeport High School, Freeport, ME as class valedictorian. He graduated from the University of Lowell with honors. He was employed by Sanders Associates in Nashua and Raytheon Co, in Sudbury, MA as an administrator until his disease forced his retirement in December 1994. He spent his retirement raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and attended Ironman races with his daughter, Kate. He will be remembered by people who knew him for his courage to continue living life one day at a time no matter the obstacles.

In addition to his parents of Freeport, ME, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judith (Valliere) Jackson of Windham, one son, Matthew Jackson and his wife Deanna of Poland, ME, two daughters, Kari Husson and her husband Joseph of Windham, Kathleen Jackson of Windham, one granddaughter, Abigail Rose Husson of Windham, his brother, Philip Jackson and his wife Mary Jane of Nashua, four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Susan and Robert Palmer of Kennebunk, ME, David and Lori Valliere of Pownel, ME, Michael and Cynthia Valliere of Lake Forest, IL, Thomas and Patricia Valliere of Walled Lake, MI, and 14 nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dean’s favorite charity, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central New England Chapter, 101 First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-1115.
