Obituary

Doris Ann Volpe, a lifelong resident of Medford, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital on July 26, 2009.
Born in Medford, she was the beloved daughter of the late Angelo C. and Angelina M. (Piccolo) Volpe. Ms. Volpe was the proprietor of the Lad & Lassie shop in Medford square for many years. She was a graduate of Medford High School and the Lowell Women’s Teachers College. Doris was an active Medford resident and had been a member of the Medford Historical Society and the Zonta Club in Medford.
She will be sorely missed by her loving sister, Eileen T. Bono of Andover, two nieces; Kathryn M. and her husband Joseph Nadeau of Florida and Marilyn T. Bono of California, two nephews; Richard J. Bono and his partner, Barbara Sullivan, both of Derry, New Hampshire and David P. and his wife Kimberly Bono of California. She is also survived by several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Doris was also the sister of the late Angelo Volpe, Jr. and Robert J. Volpe and sister-in-law of the late Ernest P. Bono.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held Friday, July 31, 2009, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
