Woody Jackson Wilson, Jr., 89, of Ben Hill County, died Sunday, July 26, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, July 28 at Dorminy Mill Baptist Church with the Revs. Ike Thomas and Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Mr. Wilson was born December 25, 1919 in Ben Hill County to the late Woody J. and Vera Jane Smith Wilson. He lived in Ben Hill County all of his life. Mr. Wilson was a farmer, for which he was the recipient of many awards. He was a member, deacon and former chairman of the deacons at Dorminy Mill Baptist Church.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife: Juliene Padgett Wilson of Ben Hill County; daughters and sons-in-law: Apricot & Herman McIntyre of Irwinville and Jackie & Wendell Davis of Ben Hill County; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother: Charles R. Wilson of New Smyrna Beach, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Woody J. Wilson, III and James N. Wilson: granddaughter: Robbie Lynn Wilson; brothers: John Henry Wilson and Arthur Lee Wilson; sisters: Inez Ashley, Eunice Esco, Lina Lou Turner and Grace Pio.
