Worcester- Yvonne A. (Roy) Melanson, 92, formerly of 40 Belmont Street died Thursday, July 31 in the Lutheran Nursing Home.
Her husband Frank J. Melanson died in 1993. She leaves a son Paul L. Melanson of Seal Beach, California; a daughter Claire L. LaPierre of Leominster; four brothers Charles A. Roy of Oregon, Anthony E. Roy of Holden, Robert J and Henry F. Roy both of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sons Leo A. Melanson of North Grafton who died in 2001 and Joseph Philip Melanson of Sagamore Beach who died in 1992. She was born in Lake Megantic, Quebec daughter of Henry A. and Eugenie V. (Beaule) Roy.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a former member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and is Lady of Sodality Club and the Belmont Tower Club. She worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross and with the program with age center at the Belmont Tower.
The funeral will be held on Monday, August 11 in Our Lady of Fatima, 43 Belmont Street with a mass at 10 AM. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
