Obituary

Clifton H. Thompson, of Plymouth formerly of Norwood, passed away on July 24th at Jordan Hospital at the age of 85. Survived by his beloved wife Helen (Alexander) of Plymouth, his daughter Cheryl Cox and her husband Bruce of Weathersfield, VT and his 2 cherished grandchildren Christopher and Heather Cox. He also leaves his sister Doris Weidman of FL and was the brother of the late Doreen Batten. Clifton was born and raised in Portland, ME where he graduated from Chebague Island High School and the New England Aircraft Institute. He joined the Marine Corp in 1942 and served during WWII. He participated in the Bismarck Archipelago Operation and the Consolidation of Northern Solomon Islands. Clifton worked as an auto mechanic for over 40 years for both Buick and Chevrolet where he was also the service manager for over 20 years. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 6th at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the Charity of One’s Choice. Arrangements made the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet.
