Mr. Monteiro died suddenly, Wednesday, at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Frank and Marie (Mello) Monteiro. Mr. Monteiro was a resident of No. Attleboro for almost twenty years, formerly of Saugus and Medford. He worked for many years as a painter, paper hanger and carpenter. He was currently employed by Sears as a salesperson in the hardware dept. He enjoyed his family and loved being with his grandchildren.
Mr. Monteiro is survived by his beloved wife Mary (LaBella) and their son Joseph R. Monteiro Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Bay Village, OH. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joseph D., Kathryn and Michael Monteiro. He is further survived by two brothers, Frank Monteiro of Melrose and Anthony Monteiro of North Carolina.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Monday at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church 600 Pleasant St. Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Saturday 2-4 and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
