Obituary

WORCESTER__Carmelo Aulet, 91, of Worcester, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carmen (Torres), a son, Carmelo Aulet Jr, and his wife Minerba Diaz, 6 daughters, Mariluz Aulet and her husband, Antonio Quinones, Nitza Aulet and her husband, Reynaldo Flores, Milagro Aulet, Erma Melendez and her husband, Juan Falas, Nereida and Ero Aulet, two brothers, Tonio and Manuel Aulet, 3 sisters, Flor, Dita and Fernando Aulet, 30 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren. He was born in Puerto Rico, a son of Raymondo and Juana (Mercado) Aulet.

Mr. Aulet was a security officer with the National Guard facility in San Juan. He served in the US Army during World War II.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23 in the funeral home.
