Howard O. Archibald, 85, of 25 Union Avenue died July 29, 2003 in Lakes Region General Hospital. He was born in Ashland NH on December 11, 1917, the son of Charles and Martha (Young) Archibald and had lived in Laconia most of his life.
Prior to his retirement in 1979, he had been employed as a truck driver by the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Laconia for more than 42 years.
Mr. Archibald was a former member of the Evangelical Baptist Church. He was a Life Member of both the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876 and the Belknap Sportsman’s Club Association.
He and his wife, Rachel (Decelles) Archibald celebrated 60 years of marriage last December 5th.
In addition to his wife, family members include a granddaughter Christine A. Archibald of Laconia; a great granddaughter, Amber Stephens of Concord NH; several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son H. Michael Archibald in 1989.
There were no calling hours. A graveside service was held at the family lot in Union Cemetery Saturday at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Belknap Sportsman’s Club Association, 182 Lilly Pond Rd. Gilford NH 03249. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. is assisted the family with arrangements.
