Beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. (Colbert) Thomas. Loving father of Virginia and her husband Roland Hebert of TX, Joan F. Thomas of Hull, John E. Thomas and his wife Kim of Whitman and James E. Thomas and his wife Bodil of Somerville. Cherished grandfather of Alicia, Monica, Ashleigh and John Bo and great grandfather of Christoper and Justin.
Mr. Thomas enjoyed taking care of his yard. He loved to garden and landscaped his entire property. He was extremely proud of his family and their accomplishments. John was born in Boston and resided in West Roxbury. As a youth, he enjoyed golf and was a track star in high school. He has lived in Hingham since 1963. John served in the Unites States Army where he rose through the ranks from an elisted man and was discharged a major. Mr. Thomas was a true character who enjoyed being a mentor to many of his colleagues. He possessed a strong will and was very tough minded.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Visiting Hours in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Sunday from 1-3 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held following the visitation at 3 PM.
