Thelma (Morrell) Jacobs, age 88, formerly of Weymouth, passed away at the Falmouth Hospital on Monday July 20, 2009. Mrs. Jacobs was born in Somerville but was raised and educated in Weymouth graduating from Weymouth High School in 1938. She moved to Sandwich in 1985. Thelma was married to the late Frederick A. Jacobs. Mrs. Jacobs is survived by two sons; F. Arthur Jacobs Jr. and his wife Christine of Marshfield and Andrew R. Jacobs and his wife Kathy of Cocoa Beach, FL; three daughters, Patricia E. Sharp and her husband Arthur of Weymouth, Karen L. Ryan and her husband Michael of Milton, WI and Lisa J. Davenport and her husband Kevin of San Diego, CA, a brother Lloyd Morrell of Oregon and her long time companion Harold S. Buker. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Thelma is predeceased by her infant son Robert A. Jacobs. Mrs. Jacobs was a waitress at several local restaurants until her retirement in 1995 and was a member of the Mayflower Chapter of the Eastern Star in Weymouth. A Celebration of her life will be at the Chapel of the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Friday July 24 at 11 A.M. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Village Cemetery in Weymouth.
