Marie (Zanotti) Costa passed away on Friday, July 17 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a long battle with leukemia.
She grew up in North Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1962. She attended Blaine Beauty School in Boston where she received her hairdresser license. She was a manager of Alfred’s Salon in Marshfield and Co-Owner of Ida and Marie’s Hair Salon in Kingston. She was the successful owner of Marie Costa’s Beauty Shop in Plymouth for the past 28 years until she was forced to retire due to her illness. She took great pride in styling the hair of her many loyal clients who had become like family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, gardening in the yard, and going to the casino.
Marie was the daughter of the late John and Louise Zanotti of Plymouth. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Elias Costa Jr., her two sons Douglas Costa and wife Traci of Plymouth, and Jeff Costa and wife Angeline of Fort Mill, S.C., her three granddaughters Jordan, Morgan, and Gabrielle, and many nieces and nephews.
A remembrance is planned for Wednesday, July 22nd at the Garibaldi Club on Castle St in Plymouth from 5 to 7 PM.
