RIVERSIDE, CA__Walter R. Fryc, 66, of Riverside, went to heaven on July 14, 2009 to join his parents Andrew and Alice (Zaterka) Fryc and all his family and friends who went before him.
Walter is survived by his loving wife Peggy, daughter, Resa and her husband, Doug Inaba, grandchildren, Jennifer, Julia and Rachel, all of Riverside; a brother, Andrew Fryc and wife, Carol, and a sister, Elaine McKay, all of Worcester and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Worcester, MA.
Mr. Fryc served in the U.S. Air Force in California, where he met his wife, Peggy. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on July 11, 2009. He was a surveyor for the city of Riverside retiring in 2003. Walter was also a photographer for the Riverside College Band with whom he traveled the country and world. He enjoyed reading and had a love of life. Walter had a passion for sports and fitness. Staying fit helped him with his lifelong struggle with diabetes. He was an avid sports fan enjoying the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots.
Burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 9:30 a.m. in Riverside National Cemetery. The memorial service will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church, Riverside.
Walter was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle who was loved by all and returned to God. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL SERVICE, 33 Ward St., Worcester is assisting the family.
