Obituary

DUDLEY – Helena G. (Mills) Estabrooks, 96, of Korch Avenue, died Monday, July 20, in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after an illness. Her husband of 58 years, Chester I. Estabrooks, died in 1995.

She leaves a daughter, Jeanette B. Kasierski and her husband Donald A. of Dudley, with whom she lived. She was preceded in death by a brother and 3 sisters.

She was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the youngest daughter of James and Ida (Goodine) Mills. She lived in Webster for 61 years before moving to her daughter’s home last year.

Mrs. Estabrooks was first a hairdresser. She then worked as a stitcher at Lipnick Tailoring in Webster. She also was an assembler at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 4 years. She retired from Ethan Allen Company in 1975.

She was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church.

The funeral will be held Saturday, July 25, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Webster. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday, July 25, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church, Special Projects Fund, 24 Dudley Hill Road, PO Box 277, Dudley, MA 01571-0277 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
