AMBROSE, MARVIN CURTIS

Marvin Ambrose has exchanged his earthly residence for his home in GLORY…to live forever with his heavenly father. What a homecoming welcome he has experienced with those who have gone on before him!

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 2 o’clock at Salem Baptist Church, 321 Old Summerville Road, Summerville. There will be a gathering at the church from 1 o’clock until hour of service. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. A visitation will be held this evening from 6 to 8 o’clock at the funeral home.

Marvin began his career in the Pipefitter Shop 56 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until retirement as a pipefitter foreman. He retired from his second career as a detention officer with the Charleston County Detention Center.

Born in Sylvester, Georgia on 14 November 1938, Parents: (both deceased) Curtis Alton Ambrose and Velver Marvin Ambrose, Wife: Amanda “Mandy” Smith Ambrose “I married that girl!”

SURVIVORS: Sons: Brian Curtis Ambrose (Fiance’: Leslie Blanchard), Chad Marvin Ambrose (Jessica), Significant Extended Family Members: Tanya Gardner, Jenna L’Esperance, Grandsons: Marcus and Sean Ambrose, Brothers: Clifford Ambrose, James Ambrose (Ruth), David Ambrose (Lorraine), Sisters: Linda Hobbs (Ken), Glenda Dalton (Jerry), Predeceased by: Twin sisters at birth, Sister: Marrie Brooks and Brother; Randall Ambrose.

Marvin’s attributes: “Loved God, his family and friends; “a people person”; a hard working man who enjoyed southern gospel music and his church family at College Park Baptist church; loved working his garden and sharing the bounty thereof; was a zealous sports fan; delighted in his knack for persuading his young acquaintances to invest for their future”. This is his legacy.
