Raymond Earl Tharp, 63, Clarksville, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Brother Jamie officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 9, 1945 in Marion, Indiana son of the late Earl Francis Tharp and Edith Marie Havens Tharp. Mr. Tharp was retired from the US Army and from the US Post Office. He was a lifetime member of the DAV. Survivors include his wife, Gisela Steinbach Tharp, son, Tim Black, Bellevue, Ohio; daughters Cherry McCloud (Robert) and Nicole Tharp both of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Blake McCloud, Cole Rudolph, Clay Rudolph, Chloe Rudolph, Traci McCloud, and Dawn McCloud; two sisters, Charlotte and Saundra; brother in law, Gary Timmons; nephews, Larry Chris, Gary Pat, and Edgar; nieces, Debbie, Michelle, and Sandy; and a host of friends.
