Obituary

Sister Lorette Authier, pm (Sr. Louise-Angeline, pm) age 88, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester, NH.

Born in Holyoke, MA, on July 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Hermenegilde and Marie (Lemieux) Authier. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson, NH on January 18, 1941 and made her First Profession on February 2, 1945 and Final Profession on August 15, 1950.

Sister Lorette taught in the Parochial Elementary Schools in Aldenville and Gardner in MA, Berlin, Cascade, Concord and at Presentation of Mary Academy, Hudson, NH. Following a period of convalescence relative to an accident, she served at Rivier College, St. Joseph Infirmary and Presentation of Mary Community performing community services until her retirement in 2003 at St. Joseph Residence.

She received her Bachelor degree in education from Rivier College in Nashua.

Family members include her four brothers, Gerard, Lionel, Edmond, and Paul Authier; five sisters, Lucille Deslauriers, Juliette Vautrain, Annette Sawyer, Edna St. Jacques and Louise Munley; many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and cousins.


A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA.
