Obituary

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA: Salvatore P. Aiello, 71, of Rockwood Heights Road died Friday morning, July 17, 2009 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following an extended illness. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Brazier) Aiello.
Born in Gloucester on April 12, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Grace (Parisi) Aiello. He had attended St. Ann’s Grammar School and Gloucester High School. He had resided in Gloucester for many years before moving to Manchester-by-the-Sea in 1978.
A commercial fisherman, he fished aboard various vessels including the Emily Brown and Blue Waters. He later worked as a fabricator for Cox Engineering, having retired in 1989.
In addition to his wife of forty-nine years, he is survived by a daughter Michel M. Aiello of Ipswich, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher Aiello of Ipswich and Jamie P. and Christine M. Aiello of Newburyport, one granddaughter, Gennalee Aiello of Ipswich, three sisters, Pauline, wife of John Tarantino, Maryanne, wife of Anthony Palazola and Geraldine Hilton all of Gloucester, a brother, Paul Aiello of Seattle, WA, two brothers-in-law, Salvatore Lovasco and Salvatore Frontiero, a sister-in-law, Janice, wife of Robert Stout of Dayton, OH and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Rose Lovasco, Lena Frontiero, Kitty and her husband, Samuel Balbo and his brother-in-law, Henry Hilton.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning in the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the VNA Care Hospice Network, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the Addison Gilbert Hospital “Oncology Dept.”, 298 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
