Helen A. (Augustynowicz) Emmer, 88 of Wrentham formerly of Teaneck New Jersey died July 17 in the Maples Rehab and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Edwin Emmer who died in 1960.
Born in Jersey City New Jersey, August 17, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Dmoch) Augustynowicz, Mrs. Emmer had lived in Teaneck for many years before moving to Cohasset Mass. where she lived from 1991 until moving to Wrentham 4 years ago.
A homemaker most of her life she had worked earlier for the Time-Life Company, the Stearns Company and Dial America.
Mrs. Emmer enjoyed flowers and gardening, playing cards, reading and above all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Susan Emmer Schmidt and her husband Richard of Norfolk, Mass., Lorraine Emmer of Sarasota Florida and Paul Emmer and his wife Elizabeth of Sarasota Florida.
She is also survived by her brother, Peter Augustynowicz of Jersey City New Jersey, sisters, Tess DeMaria of Bogota New Jersey and Harriett Augustynowicz of Ringwood New Jersey.
She was the sister of the late Edmund and Sophie Augustynowicz.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, David, Emilie, Christopher and Sara.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21 in St. Joseph Church in Bogota New Jersey at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Cemetery of the Madonna in Fort Lee New Jersey.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, July 18 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main St. Franklin from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Petrik Funeral Home 140 Palisade Ave. Bogota New Jersey.
