In Taunton, of West Britannia Street July 13, 2009 Dominic F. “Bompa” Tigano husband of Fernande (Cornelis) Tigano died at Marion Manor Nursing Home in Taunton at the age of 88. Born in Taunton, Dominic was the son of the late John and Vinarizina (Ynaragina) Tigano. Dominic was educated in Taunton schools, after school he entered the U.S Army serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. During WWII Dominic met his beloved wife Fernande of 64 years in Belgium “by knocking on her door”. He was a retired Press Operator for Modern Plastics in Taunton. He was member of the V.F.W. Post 611 Taunton, and never missed marching in a Parade in the City of Taunton. Dominic was a loving father to Henry Tigano of Taunton, William Tigano of Pawtucket, RI, Betty Tigano of Taunton, Mary Cwiek of Taunton, Shirley White of Taunton and Nancy Harrigan of Taunton. Bompa of thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother of Lena Blackwell of Taunton and the late Frances Thomas, Joseph, John and James Tigano. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday, July 20th at 10 am. Funeral Mass will be at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 am. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-6 pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
