Madeline (Souza) Teixeira, died at her home on July 13, 2009 after a brief illness.
She was 89.
Born in E. Providence, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Deolinda (Alves) Souza.
Educated in E. Providence schools, she moved to this area in 1951.
Mrs. Teixeira worked as a mental health associate for Taunton State Hospital for over 30 years, retiring in 1981, and was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
Survivors include a son, David Teixeira of Germany; a daughter, Donna Teixeira of Taunton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Antone, Joseph, and Eva Souza, and the late John Andrade, Mary Brito, and Nellie Alves.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday, July 18th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Tremont St. at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
