Obituary


Taylor, Maryann Courtney, “Nanne” as she liked to be called, died July 12, 2009. Daughter of the late Wilfred R. and Evelyn LaFrance of Marlborough, MA. She is survived by her husband Leonard and her beloved son Leonard D. Taylor III. Born in Lynn, MA. on May 6, 1948. She attended Catholic schools from the first grade on up through high school at St. Anne’s Academy in Marlborough, MA. In these years , and throughout her college years, Nanne was an honors student. Her college years began at Anna Maria College in Paxton. After her second year at Anna Maria College she transferred to Bridgewater State Teachers College where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and later her Master of Education. There were many additional courses taken for professional development at Bridgewater, Northeastern University, and New England School of Law. Nanne worked for the Plymouth School System for her entire professional career as an elementary school teacher, a profession she loved and devoted her working life to. Her students loved her and she kept them close to her heart. Nanne traveled extensively throughout Europe with her beloved son Leonard. These were exciting plane, train and bus adventures to France, Greece, Venice, Budapest, and many other places. After retirement, with the help of her son and husband, Nanne founded Taylor Forest Products, Inc., a specialty wood supplier to the contracting trade with customers throughout New England and New York. Nanne was truly an entrepreneur at heart. Nanne was an avid Hanover High Hockey supporter and fan. She loved country music, especially Jerry Jeff Walker. She celebrated her 6lst birthday singing and dancing with her son with music being sung by her good friend, Jimmy Sylvia.
Visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., rte. l39, Marshfield on Thursday, July l6 from 4 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral service will be on Friday, July l7 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home.
