Jeanette Gibbs Eaton, 73, of Tifton died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. James Giddens and Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Tony Story, Scott Story, Larry Myers, Bob Myers, John Clements and Jamie Godwin will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Eaton was born on June 18, 1936 in Cook County and was the daughter of B. W. Gibbs and Dora Lee Hutchinson Gibbs, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Danyale Eaton. She was retired from Tift Regional Medical Center as a central receiving clerk and was of the Pentecostal faith. She had lived in Tift County for 44 years.
Ms. Eaton is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, David and Tami Eaton of Tifton, Richard and Diane Eaton of Dunn, North Carolina, Kenny and Trudy Eaton of Tifton and Bruce Eaton and Kerri Conley of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ken Layfield of Tifton; two sisters, Clara Mae Myers of Sparks and Bobbie Story of Sparks; her grandchildren, Ricky Eaton, Tim Eaton, Laura Clements, Leann Layfield, Jamie Eaton, Sam Eaton, CharLee Eaton, Kenny Eaton, Brittany Eaton, Troy Eaton, Dustin Eaton, Haley Newsome, Hannah Newsome, Summer Eaton, Autumn Eaton and Brooke Eaton; a special friend, Kristy Redlinger; and caretaker, Judy Cooper.
