New Bedford- Jose Andre age 82 years died Sunday July 12, 2009 at home in the company of his loved ones, after a long illness. He was the husband of Lilia (Pacheco) Andre of New Bedford. He was the father of Jose Manuel Soares, Idelta Paulo, Herculano Soares, Duarte Andre, and Carlos Soares all of Dartmouth, Jorgina Amaral of Acushnet, Jose M. Soares of FL. and Rick Andre of New Bedford. Mr. Andre has 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Andre was a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Estrela) Andre. He was a born in Lomba São Pedro, São Miguel Açores . Mr. Andre was a custodian at Cliftex Mfg. until his retirement.
Mr. Andre’s Funeral will be Wednesday at 9 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. With Services at the Portuguese Seventh Day Adventist Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting Hours will be Tuesday evening from 5-8 P.M.
