Obituary

Donald L. Jacques, 75, of Manchester, died July 12, 2009, at Ridgewood Center in Bedford after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Manchester, April 18, 1934 and was the son of Romeo and Jeannette (Masse) Jacques. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

He worked for Genest Bakery for 20 years and later worked as a custodian for the Merrimack School District for 13 years.

Mr. Jacques served in the National Guard and later in the US Marine Corps.

He was an Eagle Scout and later served as a scout master and district commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America.

He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the American Legion.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He enjoyed bowling and golfing.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Paulette T. (Gaudreault) Jacques of Manchester; a son, Philip J. Jacques and his wife, Eve, of Auburn; a grandson, Damien Jacques; three brothers, Roger Jacques, Maurice Jacques, both of Manchester and Roland Jacques of Utah; his special family, Todd and Celeste Bailey, and their three children, Matthew, Alyssa and Michael; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ridgewood Resident Fund, 25 Ridgewood Rd., Bedford, NH 03110.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., was in charge of arrangements.
