Obituary

Vity J. Kundrot, 84, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at his daughter's home on Sunday, July 12 surrounded by his family after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Olivia Kundrot and the late Evelyn (Lewis) Kundrot. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1943. Mr. Kundrot was a Petty Officer 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Vity’s Sanitary Engineers in Stoughton for 40 years before retiring in 2000.
Mr. Kundrot was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 1645 and American Legion Post 89 both in Stoughton, as well as the Fraternal Order of Elks, Norwood Lodge. He was Past President of Wally Byam Airstream Caravan Club. He was a sustaining member of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Assn. and an Honorary Major with the Massachusetts State Police. He enjoyed dancing, going out to dinner, telling jokes, magic tricks, traveling and westerns.
Mr. Kundrot is survived by his children, Diane M. Sousa and her husband Antonio, Lee A. Malinowski and her husband Richard, John V. Kundrot and Edward R. Kundrot and his wife Diane all of Stoughton, Gail P. Kundrot of Whitman and Joy V. Scimone and her husband Mark of Bridgewater. He was the brother of Alice White and her husband Calvin of Bridgewater and the late Valerie Donahue, Mary Kundrot, Louise Kundrot and Edward Kundrot. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, July 16 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Faith Baptist Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Vity’s name may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Camp Fund, 18 Stoughton St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
