Dolores I. "Dolly" Keefe, 78, of Lowell, MA, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell, MA. Dolly was born in Methuen, MA on August 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Lucienne (DuPont) Bedard. She was a resident of Lowell since 2002, formerly living in Windham, NH for 35 years. Dolly was self employed as a hairdresser in Windham for many years having owned Dolly's Beauty Shoppe. She was a member of the breakfast club for many years, enjoyed selling Avon, and loved to fish.
Dolly is survived by her ex-husband, Francis Keefe of Londonderry, NH; her longtime friend and caregiver, Marilyn Lamprey of Londonderry; two grandchildren, Gennifer Hoegen, and Frank Hoegen; one great granddaughter, Alexis Hoegen; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Bedard, Jr.
Calling hours were held on Monday, July 13th from 2 - 5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, with a funeral service that followed at 5:00pm in the funeral home. Following cremation, private burial will be in the Cemetery on the Hill in Windham at a later date.
