Opal W. Thomason, 88, Clarksville, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Grace Healthcare. The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel and from 12 p.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born September 24, 1920 in Dickson County, TN son of Whitt Waynick and Birdie Harmon Waynick. Mrs. Thomason was a retired school teacher with the Montgomery County School System. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Blake Thomason; sons, Terry Thomason (Lorna); John Thomason (Elizabeth); and Lyn Thomason (Lee); daughter, Susan Lowry; sisters, Geraldine Davenport (Billy), and Betty Diatiakr A (Charlie); twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
