Obituary

Charles Earl Powers, 62, Clarksville, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Brother David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Montgomery County October 8, 1946 son of Robert Clay Powers and Anna Belle Lyle Powers Jackson. He was a developer and the owner of C.E. Powers Construction. He was a graduate of APSU with a bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was a member of Antioch Methodist Church and the Montgomery County Cattleman's Assoc. He is survived by his wife Sue Nicholson Powers of Clarksville; one son Charles Clay Powers and wife Amanda Bridges Powers of Clarksville; one daughter Allison Powers Means and husband Jeremy Means of Palmyra; one brother Robert Sidney Powers and wife Susan Taylor Powers of Palmyra and four grandchildren Brandon Powers, Charlsie Powers both of Clarksville, Jorden Means and Addison Means both of Palmyra. Pallbearers will be Buddy Bumpus, Richard Latham, Butch McHaney, Jeremy Means, Jorden Means, Brandon Powers, Bryce Powers, Ben Robertson,Clark Wilbur and Josh Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Bartee, Robert Brame, Howdy Jones, Ed Neeley, Wayne Neblett, Wayne Price, Allen Sands, James Eldon Thomas and Employee's of Powers Construction.
