Obituary

Abington - Lucy Wells 80, a lifelong resident of Abington died unexpectedly Saturday July 4. She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Wells.

Born in Chelsea and raised in Abington she was the daughter of the late Serop and Mary (Avidikian) Kahian and attended Abington Schools.

Lucy was a “WAC” serving in the Women’s Army Corp. during the Korean War.

She was an avid fan and her greatest joy came from following the various sporting events of her sons and later those of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving sons Timothy Wells and his wife Kathy of Abington and James Wells, Jr. and his late wife Donna of Whitman, her brother Leo Kahian of Middleboro and her four grandchildren Jenna and Timothy Wells of Abington and Hannah and Haley Wells of Whitman. She was the sister of the late Simon Kahian.

Her services will be held Wednesday July 8 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery where she will join her late husband. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday July 7 from 5-8 PM.
