Antoinette J. (Acharcki) Tyminski-Helmund, a 21 year resident of Melrose and formerly of Malden and Charlestown, died on Friday July 3, 2009 at Epoch Senior Living Nursing Home in Melrose following an extended illness. She was 95 years old.
Antoinette was born in Chelsea on October 16, 1913. She grew up in Chelsea where she attended schools there. She had lived in Charlestown for 20 years before moving to Malden then to Melrose. She worked as a sales clerk most of her adult life for Filene's, Jordan Marsh and Fannie Farmer's companies. Antoinette loved to knit her many afghan's in her spare time for family and friends.
Antoinette is the beloved wife of the late John Helmund. She is the devoted mother of Robert A. Tyminski and his wife Marilyn of Woburn and Coconut Creek, Florida and Elizabeth "Betty" Flanagan of Saugus. She is the loving "Babci" to Brian Flanagan, Kristina Jones and her husband Paul, Karen Kempker and her husband David, Nancy Flanagan and her husband Dave Marsters, Michael Tyminski and his wife Lisa, Amy Flanagan and also her 9 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday morning July 7, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
