Obituary

Evelyn Laura (Becker) Fisher, 95, a lifelong resident of Derry passed away Thursday July 2, at the Parkland Medical Center. Evelyn was born August 18, 1913 in Derry to the late Henry A. and Nellie (Chase) Becker. She was the 1931 valedictorian of Pinkerton Academy. Mrs. Fisher owned and operated the Fisher Printing Company in Derry with her late husband. She was a volunteer for both the Pinkerton Academy and Parkland Medical Center and was presented the 2003 Vaughn Award for Volunteerism by then Governor Craig Benson for lifetime achievement in volunteer services. In 2005 she received the Parkland Medical Center Volunteer of the Year Award. Mrs. Fisher would also volunteer her time at various nursing homes, playing show tunes for the residents on the piano. She was a member of the American Guild of Organists and the Derry Garden Club where she made many friends. Evelyn enjoyed keeping track of the older Pinkerton graduates and contributing the information for the magazine, "The Alumnus".
Evelyn leaves her loving son, Richard F. Fisher and his wife, Judy of Epping, 3 grandchildren, Richard "Rick" Fisher and his wife Cindi of Derry, Cheryl Marcotte of Derry and James Fisher and his wife Julie of Manchester. Mrs. Fisher also leaves 4 great grandchildren, Randy Marcotte, Marissa Marcotte, Kyle Fisher, Kaitlyn Fisher, a brother, Richard H. Becker of Derry, the mother of her grandchildren, Beverly E. Fisher of Derry along with several cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Raymond C. Fisher in 2001.
The services for Mrs. Fisher are private at the request of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pinkerton Academy Alumnus Fund, 5 Pinkerton St., Derry NH 03038. The Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium of Derry NH is handling the wishes of the family.
