Stephen Kazarian, 42

Dateline: Norton, MA

Stephen Kazarian, 42, a lifelong resident of Norton passed away on Thursday July 2, 2009 at home. He was the loving companion of Teresa M. Clark with whom he made his home.
Born in Attleboro, MA on June 14, 1967 he was a dear son of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Rei) Kazarian.
Educated in Norton schools, Steve was a 1985 graduate of Norton High School where he excelled in football and baseball and was chosen by his peers as a captain of the football team in his senior year. He furthered his education by attending Massasoit Community College in Brockton.
Steve had worked as a Correctional Officer for the Massachusetts Correctional Institute in Norfolk for over 19 years prior to becoming ill.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, Steve was a member and treasurer of the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 28. He was also an associate member of the Norton VFW Post 8049 and was a charter member and former treasurer of the 1st & 10 Foundation in Norton.
Steve was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed life outdoors. His hobbies included golfing, camping, fishing, gardening and spending time with his faithful dog “Freddie.”
Growing up in a small town, Steve made many friendships that would last a lifetime. His friends loved and cared for him very much and rallied around him during his courageous fight against cancer.
In addition to his loving companion Teresa he is survived by his brother Michael Kazarian of Norton, his former wife Lisa Congdon of Attleboro, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday July 7th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 133 South Worcester St. Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday July 6th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, it has been requested that donations in Steve’s memory be made to the 1st & 10 Foundation P.O. Box 241 Norton, MA 02766
