Daniel Paton, 66, Clarksille, died peacefully at his home on June 30, 2009 with his family at his bedside. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Neal-Tarpley Chapel. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Dan was born November 17, 1942 in Morristown, New Jersey, son of the late Daniel Paton Sr. and Evelyn Cohen Paton. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda Blanks Paton, daughter Tricia Paton, Yonkers, NY; son, David Paton (Melissa), Clarksville; brother, Robert Paton (Mary Anne), Dover, NJ and four grandchildren, Zach, Jordon, Jacob, and Sara Ryan Paton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Isabelle Thompkins. We mourn Dan's passing, but are comforted that he is out of the pain that he was suffering for the past number of months while battling the cancer that ultimately took him from us. He served our country's military as part of the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, KY and settled in Clarksville when he married his beloved wife Linda on December 1, 1962. Dan worked as a civil service engineer (pipe fitter) for over thirty years at Ft. Campbell and was former owner of Glass Art Stained Glass Studio. Dan was a fiercely independent and hard working man who was devoted to his family and friends - He will be missed.
