Greta (Baronisky) Tansey, 68, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, June 25, 2009. She was the wife of the late Willard I. Tansey Jr. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Mrs. Tansey was a resident of Taunton for 15 years, previously living in Bridgewater for over 35 years. After raising her family, she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and worked at the Easton Lincoln Nursing Home in Easton for over 10 years and then at the Linden House in Abington until her retirement in 1985. She was involved with Girl Scouts not only as a child but also as a leader while her children were in Girl Scouts. She enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire and to Plymouth with her family and friends. She also loved her crafts, painting, antiquing, playing cards and bingo and listening to her gospel and country music. Her most cherished time was spent with her family and friends, enjoying her gardens and her wildlife around her.
She is survived by her four daughters: Donna Tansey of RI, Diane Loftus of Bridgewater, Dale Brenza of Raynham and Deidra Tansey of New Bedford. She was the sister of Joan Mayo of Easton. She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Haley Loftus, Jarrid Tansey and Nicolle Brenza. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents Michael and Lillian (Leighton) Baronisky. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service will be held in the Central Square Congregational Church, 71 Central Square, Bridgewater Center on Monday, July 6 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Omitted.
