Obituary

Myles M. Franey, 78, of Medford, passed away Suddenly, on Sunday, June 28, at the Aberjona Nursing Care Center in Winchester. He was the husband of the late Mary C. (Waldron) Franey.


He was the son of the late Myles and Ellen ( Hanley) Franey. Born and raised in Medford, "Bud" as he was affectionately known was a self-employed claims consultant until his retirement. A Korean War Veteran and a lifelong Medford resident, he enjoyed supporting local sports teams, and adored his grandchildren and took great pleasure being with them.


Surviving are his two daughters, Kathleen F. Carmody of Medford and Maureen E. Franey - Passatempo and her husband Robert of Stoneham. Four Grandchildren, Caitlin and Meghan Carmody of Everett, Michael and Mark Passatempo of Stoneham. Two brothers William Franey of Florida and Thomas Franey of Maine. His brother in Law Daniel Waldron of Woburn, and his Aunt Juye Freeney of Galway, Ireland. Also by many dear nieces, nephews and cousins locally and in Galway, including Leo Martin of Lynn and Tony Freeney of Galway.


The funeral procession will gather at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Friday July 3, at 10 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford at 11 AM with the Rev. David B. Meskell, presiding. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Thursday 4 p.m. thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
