Obituary

FALL RIVER … Raymond Paradise, 85, of Fall River died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 after a long illness. He died at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Theresa (Lajoie) Paradise for over 60years.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Joseph and Emma (Plant) Paradise and had been a life long resident of the city.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River.
He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 34 years.
Mr. Paradise was a Navy Veteran of W.W.II. He graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School and attended Princeton University before entering the Navy. He enjoyed photography, reading, baseball, and fishing. While attending B.M.C. Durfee High School Mr. Paradise was selected as an All County Catcher.
Survivors include his widow a son Raymond Paradise, Jr., a daughter Suzanne McNerney, a sister Louise O’Donnell, 2 grandchildren: Michael McNerney and Hayley McNerney, a great granddaughter Dakota Moniz all of Fall River, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred Paradise, Harriet Hennesse, and Florence Micco.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River, MA. Calling hours Sunday 5 – 8 PM. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
