Obituary

WORCESTER: James D. Angelos, 86, of 104 Burncoat St., formerly of Methuen and New York City, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Geraldine (Smith) Angelos; 3 daughters, Laurel Westreich and her husband Henry of New Jersey, Kathleen Pinkett of Minnesota, Teresa Mazeika and her husband James of Worcester; a sister, Helen Apicella of New Jersey; 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, James, Dylan, Maxine, Adrienne; 3 great grandchildren, Jiana, Marcus, Nyah; and nieces and nephews. A brother, Louis Angelos, a sister, Mary Bornn, and granddaughter, Rachel Westreich, predeceased him. Jim was born and raised in New York City, son of the late Andrew and Evelyn Angelos. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific and later graduated from New York University.
Jim was an electrical engineer for Sperry Gyroscope in New York and for Dynamics Research Corporation in Wilmington, retiring in 1991. He was Past Commander of the McNally American Legion Post #263 in New York City and coached Little League Baseball. Jim was an avid Ten-pin Bowler and enjoyed Candlepin Bowling after moving to Massachusetts in 1980.
After cremation, a MEMORIAL CALLING HOUR will be held from 12 Noon to 1 P.M on SATURDAY, JULY 11, at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester, immediately followed by a MEMORIAL SERVICE at 1 P.M. Burial of Jim’s ashes will be at the convenience of the family.
