Obituary

TYNGSBORO - Charles J. Ascolillo, 52, a resident of Tyngsboro and former lifelong Billerica resident, died Thursday June 25th at his home surrounded by his family, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Lisa C. Dupont, with whom he would have celebrated his 10th wedding anniversary in February.

He was born in Boston on December 29, 1956, and he was a son of the late Louis and Hazel (Holzapfel) Ascolillo. He received his education in Billerica schools.

Charlie was employed for ten years as an autobody technician by Stoneybrook Autobody in N. Chelmsford. Earlier in his career, he was the founder and owner of the former Tri-C Autobody in Billerica.

He was an avid fisherman and he loved traveling, especially to Las Vegas, where he enjoyed playing Craps.

He was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Dracut and St. Theresa Church in Billerica.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by a daughter, Carol Rose Ascolillo of Lowell; his stepchildren, Matthew Hilliard, and Jennifer Hilliard and her fiancé Douglas Green, all of Tyngsboro; his grandson, Kasen Green of Tyngsboro; a brother Louis G. Ascolillo of Billerica; two sisters, Dian Ascolillo of S. Boston, and Jeannette "Gigi" Ascolillo of Port Charlotte, FL; his mother and father-in-law, Lana and Roland Dupont of Tyngsboro, the mother of his children, Kathleen (McNeill) Vogan of Billerica; his nieces and nephews, Scott Ascolillo of Tewksbury, Louis Ascolillo and his wife Kristeen of Hudson, NH, Denis Ascolillo of Tewksbury, Jennifer Jerome of Dracut, Catie Ascolillo of ME, and Anthony Ascolillo of Port Charlotte, FL; and many great nieces and nephews, including Korra and Avarie.

He was also the father of the late Charles J. Ascolillo Jr. and the uncle of the late Charles "Chachi" Ascolillo.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 9 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church on Tyngsboro Rd., in Dracut.
