New Bedford – Nancy A. (Parlapiano) Viera, 59, of New Bedford died after a long illness on June 25, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the fiancée of Robert Clark and former wife of Anthony Viera.
Mrs. Viera was born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Paul D. Parlapiano, Sr. and the late Alice (Pacheco) Parlapiano, and resided in New Bedford most of her life. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She was employed as a mental retardation worker by the Commonwealth of Mass. until her retirement in 2004 due to illness. She enjoyed gambling but most of all loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her fiancé and former husband, she is survived by her daughter: Wendy M. Besse; her brother: Paul D. Parlapiano, Jr.; and her granddaughters: Jordan M. Besse and Lauren A. Besse.

Visiting hours on Sunday, June 28, 2009, 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Immaculate Conception Church, New Bedford.
Interment in Tabor Cemetery, Acushnet.
