Obituary

Clifton E. Thompson 89 a resident of Seabrook, NH, & formerly of Lawrence & Salisbury Beach passed away peacefully at the Brookhaven Hospice in Amesbury Village in Amesbury.
Mr. Thompson was educated in the Lawrence School system, entered the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving on a Rocket Launching Vessel, and worked until his retirement as a plant superintendentin the Machines and Tool Division at the Boston Naval Shipyard which coincided with the Shipyards Closure.
Clif enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Salisbury Beach, Seabrook Beach & Clearwater Florida Beach.
He was everyones “handy man”, enjoyed walking, was a founding member of the Legendary Lunday Burke Band, Salisbury Beach Betterment Association & life long member of the Lawrence Post # 1549 (VFW).
He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Southwell) Thompson, RN, family members include daughters Evelyn A. Burke RN BSN & her husband (former Register of Deeds) Atty. Thomas J. Burke of Salisbury, Faith E. Flanagan, R.N. of Salado, Texas, one son David P. Thompson formerly of Lawrence, MA as well as grandchildren: James Richard, Michelle & Michael Thompson, Kelley Burke Sullivan, Bridget Burke Kevorkian, Mary-Faith Flanagan, Julie Flanagan Cantrell, and Christopher Jude Flanagan, as well as greatgrandchildren: Michael & Tommy Sullivan, Ana, Tara Kevorkian, and Jack Flanagan.
He is also survived by his stepchildren Linda A. Lane, RN, and her husband Michael of New York, Cheryl A. Boyle RMT of Lowell & Lynn C. Southwell retired police officer of Florida as well as several step grandchildren & great step grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife of many years Dorothy A. Thompson and grandson Daniel Thompson.

A private Celebration of Life Service will take place at a future date at the request of the deceased.
