Louis F. Klein, Jr., 83 of Mattapoisett died June 23, 2009 at Sippican Healthcare Center after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Barbara K. (Schulz) Klein.
Born in Boston, the son of the late Louis F. and Alma (Aiken) Klein, he lived in Needham for many years before retiring to Mattapoisett in 1985.
Mr. Klein was an active member of the Congregational Church of Needham, the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, the Mattapoisett Yacht Club, the Buzzards Bay Regatta and the Mattapoisett Historical Society.
He was a graduate of Roxbury Latin School, class of 1944 and Harvard University, Phi Beta Kappa, class of 1949.
Mr. Klein was formerly employed as a financial analyst with Old Colony Trust Company and later with Harvard Management Company until retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Louis F. "Fred" Klein, III and his long time partner Jean Hong of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Nancy J. Perry and her husband Joseph of Mattapoisett; several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 11 AM in the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. Burial will follow in Cushing Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, June 26th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett.
