Deolinda (Carvalho) McMahon, 78, of New Bedford died Tuesday July 22, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of William F. McMahon.
Born in Dartmouth, the daughter of the late John and Laura (Freitas) Carvalho, she lived in New Bedford since 1944.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mrs. McMahon was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Luke's Hospital for many years before retiring in 1977.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael S. McMahon of South Dartmouth; a daughter, Patricia A. Pina of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Herbert Carvalho of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Elsie Correia, Isabelle Freitas, Carlos Carvalho and Antone Medeiros.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford,Friday July 25, 2003 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday July 24, 2003 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
