Mrs. Constance Vadala, age 80 of Medford formerly from Boston’s West End died Monday in the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. She is the wife of the late Thomas J. Vadala who died last November. Mrs. Vadala was born in Boston’s West End, the daughter of the late John and Erminia (Lovoulo) Luongo. In earlier years she worked as a cook for the Genevese Store,originally located on Fulton Street and later moved to Main Street. A warm and loving woman, she valued her time spent with her loving family. She never missed an opportunity to be with her grandchildren. In addition to being an excellent cook, she enjoyed playing Bingo, often at St. Raphael’s Church hall, and making occasional trips to Mohegan Sun. Mrs. Vadala was a diehard Boston Bruins fan. She will be remembered as a benefactor to countless charities and as one of the few, proud “West Enders” left.
She is survived by a daughter: Donna Vadala of Woburn, a son: Joseph J. Vadala of Windham, NH and his wife Karen. Mother of the late Thomas V. Vadala. Grandmother of David, Tommy, Michael, Anthony & Marianne Vadala; She leaves a brother John Luongo and his wife Josie of Saugus, a sister Angela Rose of NH. Sister of the late Richard Luongo. Friends may call Thursday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, Friday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
