Swampscott: Doris K. (Symonds) Ouellette age 77, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at NSMC / Salem Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Ouellette.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Irene (Began) Symonds. Doris was a graduate of Ste. Anne School and was a life long member of that parish. She first worked for the former Turcotte Shoe Repair of Salem and later for Sylvania at the Loring Avenue plant. She retired from Sylvania in 1987 at the age of 55 with over 28 years with the company.
A resident of Salem for most of her life, Doris was currently a resident of Swampscott. Her favorite pastimes were reading and doing puzzles.
She is survived by a son, Robert L. Ouellette, Jr., of Seymour, IN, 2 sisters, Rita Tina of Salem and Mary P. Preston of Berwick, ME, a granddaughter, Kelly A. Ouellette of Swampscott, 2 great-grandchildren, Kassandra & Anthony both of Swampscott, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. Visiting hours will precede her service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
