Obituary

Donald T. “Whitey” White, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the husband of 46 years of Jane (Rogers) White. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in South Boston. He was a resident of South Boston for many years, before moving to Avon in 1980. Mr. White was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for over 27 years for Sunbeam Bread in Dorchester, retiring in 2000. Recently, he worked as a Maintenance Man for Wal-Mart in Avon. An avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, in his free time, he enjoyed playing and watching golf. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to be with his family.
In addition to his wife Jane, he is survived by his children; Tracy Hibbard and her husband Ralph of Avon, Kathleen DiBattista and her husband David of CT and Donald T. “Chip” White II of Cambridge. He was the grandfather of Caitlyn, Meredith, Allyson & Curtis. Son of the late Barbara (McGrath) White, he is also survived one brother and one sister.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday Night, June 24 at 8 PM. Visiting Hours prior to prayer service from 5-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
