Augusta, GA – Mrs. Beatrice Tutt, 95, beloved wife of the late Cleo C. Tutt, entered into rest on Friday, June 19, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Philip M. Dunston officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Tutt, a native of Columbia County was a retired entrepreneur and former educator in Columbia County, a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, Appling, Georgia where she was the Mother of the church, founding Mother of the Junior Church, Deaconess and a member of the Willing Workers club.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, godmother, aunt and loyal friend. She was preceded in death by a son and daughter, Tom Robert Tutt and Brenda Gail Tutt.
Survivors include seven loving and devoted children, Alma Tutt Jennings, Janie Tutt Johnson (Leon), Preston C. Tutt, George H. Tutt (Addie), Susie Tutt Morris, Betty Tutt-Dudley (Dennis), and Joyce Tutt Cherry (Lamar).
A loving and trusted granddaughter, Janys A. Jennings, a loving and devoted granddaughter, Priscilla T. Davis, eighteen other loving and caring grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren and one grand god daughter. Three sisters-in-law, Amelia Cobb, Mable Tutt, and Marial Tutt. A dear friend and neighbor, Mrs. Ella Grant, a long time devoted caregiver Ms. LaDonna Davis, and a devoted caregiver, Ms. Gwen Kirkland.
The Tutt family would like to thank Dr. Mac Bowman and staff, Dr. Danny Newman and staff and the staff of Trinity Center for Hospice and Palliative Care for the excellent medical care provided during her confinement.
